Which two forwards scored perfect 10 ratings in the Premier League this weekend?

Alexis Sanchez’s performance against Manchester United neared perfection (9.60), while Christian Eriksen rescued a share of the points for Spurs against Swansea with two brilliant free-kicks (9.26). But neither could steal the limelight from Manchester City duo Kevin de Bruyne and Sergio Aguero, who both scored both 10 ratings in a 6-1 win over Newcastle United on Saturday.

The two-time Premier League champions’ form had started to dip following their lightning start to the campaign, but Manuel Pellegrini’s men returned to the league’s summit with a bang, to heap further misery on Steve McClaren’s woes at Newcastle.

Aguero became just the fifth man in Premier League history to score five goals in a match and to make his achievement even more spectacular he netted them all in just a 20 minute spell, unsurprisingly becoming the fastest player to achieve the feat.

The Argentina international was also denied by the crossbar during his 66-minute performance at the Etihad, but still scored with all five shots he had on target.

De Bruyne completed the rout with the pick of the goals, joining his new City teammate with a perfect rating. City’s club-record signing has made an impressive return to life in the Premier League but savoured his best performance for Saturday. The former Chelsea midfielder also set up two of Aguero’s, as well as completing more dribbles than any of his other City teammates (3). De Bruyne also completed three key passes, succeeded with two tackles and should have helped himself to more goals.
