Vidal urges Bayern to sign Arsenal striker

Arturo Vidal is urging Bayern Munich to go all out to sign Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez this summer.

The Gunners hitman, who netted 24 league goals this season, is expected to leave north London once the transfer window opens following the club’s failure to secure a top-4 spot.

Alexis has just 12 months left to run on his current deal at the Emirates Stadium and is reluctant to put pen to paper on a new contract.

Manager Arsene Wenger is reluctant to cash in the Chile international, but is aware that he could lose him on a free next summer if he opts against selling this summer.

A host of teams across the continent have been linked with a move for the 28-year-old, including Bayern, and Vidal has confirmed that he would like to link up with Alexis in Germany.

The midfielder is quoted by the Sun as saying: “Bayern have asked me about Alexis and I’ve always told them that he is the player who should come here.

“I would like Alexis at Bayern. He is doing well at Arsenal but I think he has to take a step up and fight with the best in the world.

“He still has one year on his contract. Everybody wants him because it’s easier now than if he had three years left.

“I would like him very well. He is a very good player, he has a lot of quality and he is young. We hope he will be able to come here because if he comes he will show his quality.”
