Inter have announced Milan Skriniar has put pen to paper on a new four-year deal running until the summer of 2023.
Skriniar has emerged as one of the best defenders in Serie A since joining Inter from Sampdoria in 2017 and has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United in the last 12 months.
The Slovakia international was a top transfer target for United, as the Red Devils plotted a defensive overhaul this summer, but now Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side will have to reassess.
Skriniar’s previous deal was not due to expire until 2022 but Inter have secured his services for an extra season and given him a wage hike.
Inter are expected to appoint former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte at the end of the season and the Italian has the perfect set of defenders to implement his back three immediately.
