Burnley ready to break transfer record for new defender
Burnley are ready to break their club-transfer record in order to land Norwich City defender Robbie Brady, reports The Daily Mail.
Brady, 24, has been heavily linked with a move away from Carrow Road this month with Burnley among several sides leading the chase for the versatile left-back.
Burnley have already had two bids rejected for Brady’s services but are confident of securing his signature after submitting a bid of £13m.
Their latest offer would surpass the £10.5m Burnley paid to sign Jeff Hendrick from Derby in the summer and is a showing of real intent as Sean Dyche looks to secure their Premier League status.
Norwich are keen to move on some of their highest earners having already shipped Martin Olsson on to Swansea this month, but they are still looking to extract maximum value from the likes of Brady.
Brady, who can also play further forward on the left flank, has played a direct hand in six goals in the Championship this season, while only two teammates have completed more dribbles (25).
