Atletico Madrid have announced the arrival of Athletico Paranaense left-back Renan Lodi on a six-year deal running until the summer of 2025.
The LaLiga giants have reportedly agreed a deal worth as much as €25m (£22.4m) with their Brazilian counterparts for Lodi’s signature.
Signing a new left-back was a priority for Atletico this summer following the departures of Lucas Hernandez and Filipe Luis.
Hernandez has completed a blockbuster £68m deal to Bayern Munich, while Luis’ contract with Atletico has now expired.
“I am very happy to be here and join a great club,” Lodi told Atletico’s official website.
“I am very happy to be able to work with Simeone, who is one of the best coaches.”
Lodi has been heavily linked with a move to Europe for the last 12 months but Athletico Paranaense managed to ward off suitors last summer.
The 21-year-old penned a new long-term deal last year but Atletico have finally prised the Brazilian full-back to Europe.
Lodi made 30 first-team league appearances for Athletico Paranaense after breaking into the first-team three years ago. He registered three assists and garnered a WhoScored rating of 6.88 in that time.
