Tottenham are interested in signing Salzburg striker Hee-chan Hwang this summer, reports the London Evening Standard.
Hwang has featured regularly during Salzburg’s run to the Europa League semi-finals and many believe he is ready to take the next step in his career.
The 22-year-old has already attracted interest from Liverpool and several teams from Germany and Spain this season.
However, Tottenham believe they would have the edge over their rivals in the race to sign the Salzburg forward due to his friendship with Spurs ace Heung-min Son.
The South Korea internationals are close friends and Chan would be interested in reuniting with his team-mate at Tottenham.
With Fernando Llorente expected to leave Tottenham at the end of the season, Mauricio Pochettino will need to sign another striker to compete for places with Harry Kane.
The Salzburg striker has scored two goals in eight Europa League appearances this season. In fact, only Munas Dabbur and Valon Berisha (both 5) have scored more goals in the competition for the club this term.
