Blackburn Rovers have announced they have appointed Tony Mowbray as their new manager less than 24 hours after parting ways with Owen Coyle.
The Championship strugglers parted company with Coyle after coming to a decision by mutual agreement despite the fact Blackburn turned in a thoroughly impressive performance against Manchester United in the FA Cup at the weekend.
However, the Blue and Whites have struggled in the Championship all season and have now put their life in the hands of former Celtic and West Brom manager Mowbray on an 18-month deal.

The 53-year-old has been out of work since leaving Coventry in September and returns to the Championship for the first time since he was Middlesbrough manager between 2010/13.
Mowbray takes over a Blackburn side that are only one place off bottom in England’s second-tier and three points adrift of safety. He has won 91 of the 217 Championship matches that he has taken charge of as manager (41.9%).
