Manchester United have rekindled their interest in Benfica defender Victor Lindelof as Jose Mourinho ramps up his summer transfer plans, reports The Daily Mirror.
Mourinho’s side were heavily linked with a move for the Benfica defender in January but shelved plans following the emergence of Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo, although both are now injured.
Lindelof went on to sign a new long-term contract with Benfica after his failed move to Old Trafford but that hasn’t seemingly put United off in pursuit of the Sweden international with a £40m summer move now mooted.
United are looking to sign new centre-backs this summer and are also confident of securing the services of PSG defender Marquinhos this season.
No player has completed more passes in their own half in the Portuguese Liga NOS this season than Lindelof (1050).
