Manchester City have emerged as favourites to sign John Stones, reports the Sunday Mirror.
The Everton defender has attracted interest from a host of teams on the continent, with Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barcelona reportedly keen to securing the youngster's services.
However, they may all miss out on the centre-back to City, who appear to have leapt to the front of the queue of potential suitors.
Reports on Sunday suggest City are prepared to spend £50m to sign Stones from the Toffees at the end of the season, though they will likely face competition for his signature.
