Newly promoted Norwich City are reportedly set to bid in excess of £2m for Fiorentina’s Marcos Alonso.
Alex Neil is desperately looking to strengthen his Norwich squad ahead of their Premier League return.
The Canaries, who were promoted at the first time of asking last season, have only bought in two new faces and are in danger of being left behind their rivals before the season has even started.
Alonso, 24, would be a welcomed addition and carry's three years of Premier League experience from spells at Sunderland and Bolton between 2010 and 2013.
The former Real Madrid full-back has endured two successful campaigns with Fiorentina and would also arrive with Europa League experience. Last season in Uefa's second tier competition, only two players that made more than five appearances won per more aerial duels per game than Alonso (4.2).
