Ibrahimovic admits Milan offer

 

Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has he rejected the chance to return to AC Milan in the final hours of the transfer window.

 

Ibrahimovic, 33, has spent the last three years at in Paris after joining from Milan in 2012, but had been heavily tipped to leave the Parc des Princes this summer.

 

Arsenal emerged as favourites to land the big Swede in the final hours of the transfer window, but it was actually Milan that tried to snare the forward back to the San Siro.

 

“I said from the beginning that I am staying at PSG,” Ibrahimovic is quoted as saying by BBC Sport. “I’m happy there.”

 

“It was concrete from [AC Milan’s] side and they showed great interest.

 

“I take it as a compliment that there is still interest in me. It means I’m still performing. I take it as positive.”

The mercurial Swede has been one of the best strikers in the world for the last five years. Since signing for PSG, he has scored at least 25 more goals than anyone else in Ligue 1 (75).
