Bayern Munich have confirmed Robert Lewandowski has put pen to paper on a new four-year deal running until the summer of 2023.
Lewandowski’s previous contract was due to expire in the 2021 but Bayern have now secured the best remaining years of their star striker.
The Poland international, who is widely considered one of the best No.9s in the world, has spent the last five years at Bayern.
There have been murmuring of discontent from Lewandowski’s camp in the last few years but the 31-year-old has pledged his long-term future to the German champions.
“Bayern has become my sporting home,” he told the club’s official website. “Besides, my family and I are happily settled in Munich. I’m convinced we’ll achieve a lot in the next few years.
“FC Bayern is one of the three biggest clubs in the world, and we have an outstanding team. I’m proud to be part of this club.”
