Arsenal new boss Arteta wants Juventus outcast

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is eyeing a January move for out of favour Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot, claims The Times.

Rabiot only joined Juventus in the summer but the French midfielder has struggled to make any impact at the club.

The 24-year-old has been limited to just five league starts for Juventus since signing on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain.

Arsenal appointed Arteta as Unai Emery's long-term replacement last weekend and the Spaniard already has his eye on January reinforcements.

The Gunners still don't have a lot of money to spend and Arteta is looking to use the loan market to bolster his options for the second half of the season.

Granit Xhaka is still linked with a move away from Arsenal despite Arteta insisting the midfielder's future remains at the Emirates.

Arsenal are already well-stocked in central midfield and will likely only intensify their interest in Xhaka leaves.

Rabiot hasn't scored or assisted in nine league appearances for Juventus this season and was sent off in a 2-1 win over Genoa in October.
