Everton interested in Chelsea duo

Everton have emerged as suitors for Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek this summer, claims The Daily Mirror.

Loftus-Cheek, 22, has returned to Chelsea following a loan spell at Crystal Palace but will not settle for a reserve role at Stamford Bridge.

Palace are keen to re-sign the England international but will face competition from their Premier League rivals if he is free to leave.

Loftus-Cheek is currently enjoying a pre-season break following his exploits at the 2018 World Cup and his future likely won’t be decided until he speaks to Maurizio Sarri.

Chelsea shelled out £50m to sign Jorginho from Napoli and his arrival would only push Loftus-Cheek closer to the exit door, with Everton waiting.

Marco Silva wants to add greater quality to his midfield options before the start of next season and has identified Loftus-Cheek as a possible transfer target.

 Everton interested in Chelsea duo

Of Premier League players that made at least 15 appearances last season, only two players were fouled more frequently than the towering Chelsea midfielder (1 every 30.2 minutes of action).

Everton are also interested in prising Michy Batshuayi away from Stamford Bridge and the Belgium international is reportedly free to leave.

The 24-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Borussia Dortmund and will be sold by Chelsea in order to make way for Gonzalo Higuain from Juventus.

Batshuayi scored seven goals in 10 league appearances for Dortmund last season, earning the WhoScored Man of the Match award on two occasions.
