Watford have had a £7m bid for Remi Oudin knocked back by French side Reims, claims The Sun.
Oudin has been billed as the ‘next Robin van Persie’ and a number of Premier League sides are interested in his services.
Newcastle are monitoring Oudin’s future at Reims but it has now emerged that Watford have made the first move for the 22-year-old.
Javi Gracia is already looking to build on this season’s success after the Hornets finished 11th and lost the FA Cup final to Manchester City.
Oudin can play in a variety of positions in attack and would certainly offer Gracia versatility.
He is Reims’ top scorer in Ligue 1 this season (10), at least four more goals than any other team-mate.
