Manchester United defender is not leaving the club, says agent
The agent of Luke Shaw has moved to quash suggestions suggesting the defender is on the verge of leaving Manchester United this summer.
Shaw, 21, has struggled to make any impression under Jose Mourinho this season and has regularly been linked with an Old Trafford exit throughout the season.
However, his agent, Jonathan Barnett, has denied the England international will be sold at the end of the current campaign, insisting United are still very happy with his client.
“He is happy at the club. Manchester United are very happy with him and he’s very happy at Manchester United,” Barnett told Sky Sports.
Shaw was signed from Southampton in a deal worth £27m in 2014 but the left-back has endured a very turbulent time since arriving.
Criticised by Louis van Gaal for the state of his condition upon his arrival, Shaw would eventually force his way into the team before suffering a horror double leg break against PSV Eindhoven before Christmas that ruled him out for the whole of last season.
Shaw has only featured in seven Premier League matches this season but has been tipped for more game time in the coming weeks in a bid to force his way into Mourinho’s plans having not featured since the end of November.
