Everton target focused on Burnley

Andre Gray insists he is only focusing on Burnley despite reports linking the striker with a summer move to Everton.

The 26-year-old has entered the final 12 months of his current Burnley deal and Sean Dyche’s side have reportedly been left stunned by the striker’s £75,000-a-week wage demands.

West Ham had a £15m bid for Gray rejected in January and there have been suggestions Everton will look to prize the striker away from Turf Moor this summer as Ronald Koeman seeks further offensive reinforcement.

However, Gray is adamant he is only focusing on life at Burnley and is not thinking about a move to a rival club.

“It’s part and parcel (of the game), you can concentrate on where you are,” he told the Lancashire Telegraph. “Nothing has happened, there’s nothing to think about, I’m concentrating on Burnley and that’s what I’ll always do.”

“The last five years, every window there’s something new coming out, it’s nothing new to deal with. I want to become a better player and concentrate on my football here.”

Gray scored nine goals in his first ever Premier League campaign last season and will now face competition for places up front with new signing Jonathan Walters.

Only Zlatan Ibrahimovic (37), Christian Benteke, Jermain Defoe and Romelu Lukaku (all 36) were caught offside more times in the Premier League last season than Gray (35).
