Inter target not interested in leaving Tottenham

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has put an end to rumours suggesting he could leave the Premier League side to become Inter’s next boss and has rubbished claims he has a release clause in his current deal.

Inter are on the look out for a new manager after sacking Stefano Pioli earlier this month and have already failed in their attempts to lure Diego Simeone away from Atletico Madrid and Antonio Conte from Chelsea.

Reports emerged from Italy suggesting Pochettino had a £4.2m release clause in his current deal and Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio was working hard to convince the Tottenham boss to make a summer switch.

However, the 45-year-old has put an end to any question over his long-term future at Tottenham but reiterating his commitment to the club.

“No, there is no buyout clause in my contract,” The Daily Mail quote Pochettino as saying. “I want to stay here next season. There are many, many rumours. But I am committed to Tottenham and I have no reason to leave.

“I will be here on the first day of pre-season training. Don’t worry. All the players that we want to stay next season will stay. The players that maybe have offers we will decide to sell. But that is our decision because the players are under contract with the club. It will always be the club’s decision.”

Pochettino’s status as one of the best young managers has only enhanced since becoming Tottenham manager in 2014 and Inter aren’t expected to be the only team interested in his services going forward.

In fact, since the start of last season no Premier League side has picked up more points than Pochettino’s Tottenham (150).
