Hertha Berlin's ambitious bid for Tottenham target rejected

AC Milan have rejected a surprise bid from Hertha Berlin for Krzysztof Piatek, claims Sky Sports.

Piatek has been transfer listed by Milan after just 12 months at the club following Zlatan Ibrahimovic's sensational return.

Tottenham and Chelsea have been heavily linked with a move for the Poland international this month but neither have made the first move for the forward.

Milan are hoping to sell Piatek on a permanent deal this month but are struggling to find anyone willing to match their €30m valuation.

Both North London outfits are only interested in signing Piatek on loan with an option to buy and in the meantime Milan have knocked back a bid from Hertha Berlin.

Despite offering to take Piatek on a full-time basis, Milan deemed Hertha Berlin's offer too low and are now hoping Chelsea or Tottenham respond.

Piatek earned a blockbuster move to Milan after six stunning months at Genoa at the start of last season where he scored 13 goals in his first 19 league games.

However, the 24-year-old has failed to make the same impact at Milan with a return of 17 goals in 37 Serie A games and just four in 18 this term.
