Paris Saint-Germain had an ambitious late move for Diego Costa turned down by Chelsea, according to France Football.
Chelsea re-signed David Luiz for £32m on the last day of the summer transfer window and the Ligue 1 champions attempted to take a player of Chelsea in return.
However, Antonio Conte, who had already blocked Costa’s return to Atletico Madrid, shut down PSG’s attempts to sign the Spain international.
Costa has made a sensational start to the season having scored five goals in five league appearances. By comparison, it took Costa 15 league matches last season to reach the same milestone.
