Tottenham target puts contract talks on hold

Tottenham target Harry Maguire has revealed he will not discuss his future with Hull until the end of the season.

Maguire has really impressed for relegation strugglers Hull since Marco Silva was made manager at the start of the year and the defender is now being linked with a summer move to Tottenham.

The 24-year-old’s current deal is due to expire at the end of next season but Hull are keen to retain his services beyond that, but Maguire won’t decide on his future until the campaign is finished.

“Obviously every footballer wants to be playing in the Premier League, myself included,” Sky Sports quote Maguire as saying.

“It’s possibly the greatest league in the world at the moment but I’m totally focused on Hull City staying in the Premier League, so new contracts etc – I’ll be discussing those at the end of the season when the football has finished.

“It’s massive for me. I’ve worked all year to keep this club in the Premier League and hopefully this year we can be there fighting again.”

It would seemingly appear that any chance Hull have of keeping Maguire at the club entirely depends on whether they can avoid relegation back to the Championship.

Hull currently occupy the final spot in the bottom three with two games remaining but can escape the drop zone with a win over relegation rivals Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Despite being a central defender, Maguire has completed more dribbles than any other Hull player in the Premier League this season (29).
