Arsenal eye Norwich ace Buendia

Arsenal are plotting a player-plus-cash deal to sign Norwich star Emiliano Buendia this month, claims The Indepedent.

The Gunners are desperate to add a creative midfielder to their ranks this month after struggling for goals so far this season.

While the priority is shifting deadwood during the transfer window, Mikel Arteta is keen to recruit at least one new face.

Borussia Dortmund's Julian Brandt has been linked with a January move to Arsenal but the Bundesliga outfit have rubbished those reports.

Norwich manager Daniel Farke insisted over the weekend Buendia is going no where this month, but Arsenal are hopeful a deal can be struck.

Arsenal youngsters Joe Willock and Reiss Nelson have already been touted as potential makeweights in a deal for Buendia, with preliminary talks with the player's agent already taking place.

Buendia is currently the top WhoScored rated player in the Championship this season (7.62) and has played a direct hand in 13 goals in 19 appearances (seven goals, six assists).

Moreover, the 24-year-old is averaging more key passes per game (3.3) than any other player in the division.
