Bayern forward coy on Madrid talk

Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski has refused to rule out a move to Real Madrid.

Lewandowksi, 27, has developed into one of the most revered strikers on the planet this season and his performances have courted reported interest from Madrid, who could look to revamp their squad at the end of the season.

The Poland international’s agent was pictured at the Bernabeu in a VIP box earlier this month, which promoted Bayern president Karl-Heinz Rummenigge to confirm that their star striker still had three years left to run on his current deal, but Lewandowski has now revealed the situation is a difficult one.

“Every year this speculation arises and I don’t always react,” Lewandowski told AS.

“I only care about football. It’s not an easy situation for me, so I prefer not to say anything.”

The Bayern No.9 has scored 15 league goals in as many appearances this season and also has netted seven times in just six Champions League matches thus far. In fact, no player has scored more goals across league and European competition than Lewandowski this season (22).
