Claudio Bravo has rubbished suggestions he is looking to leave Manchester City after just one season at the club and insists he is happy in England.
Pep Guardiola signed Bravo from former club Barcelona in a £15m deal at the start of the season but the Chile international has flopped and since lost his place in the team to understudy Willy Caballero.
Reports have suggested the 33-year-old has failed to settle in Manchester and would like to return to Spain at the next available moment, but the City goalkeeper has dismissed those claims.
“It’s all false, that I’m looking for another place to play, because I want to leave, things that are not true,” Manchester Evening News quote Bravo as saying. “I’m happy in England and so is my family.
“The issue that I was not playing came out, many examples of fake news have come out. Things that, above all, have no information about them. Many things come out from this country that are not true – that I have a psychologist, or an English teacher to have a faster adaptation.”
While Bravo is not thinking about leaving City in the summer, it may not be down to his decision. Guardiola is expected to review his goalkeeping situation at the end of the season with further investment in that position expected, which would only diminish Bravo’s chances of first-team football.
Perhaps for good reason too. No goalkeeper has a lower save success rate in the Premier League this season than Bravo (53.4%).
