Arsenal starlet Guendouzi faces unertain future under Arteta
Matteo Guendouzi's future at Arsenal has been plunged into doubt after he was axed from the matchday squad in Sunday's 4-0 win over Newcastle, reports The Daily Telegraph.
Guendouzi has struggled to nail down a regular first-team spot since Arteta replaced Unai Emery before Christmas.
His absence in the starting XI at the weekend came as no great surprise but he was a notable exclusion from the matchday squad to face Newcastle.
It has now been revealed Guendouzi had a heated row with Arteta and members of his coaching staff during their winter break in Dubai.
Guendouzi's poor body language and attitude was picked up by Arteta during a particular session and a row between the two carried over into the evening.
The 20-year-old was one of very few positives for Arsenal during Emery's tenure but he has dropped down the pecking order under Arteta.
Sunday's win against Newcastle was the first league game Guendouzi has missed entirely this season and he has only started two of Arteta's first seven league games in charge.
Arsenal have only lost one of the nine league matches Guendouzi has not started in this season compared to five defeats from the 17 league games he has started.
