Tottenham ponder Manchester United outcast after Reguilon and Bale arrival

Tottenham are interested in following up the signings of Sergio Reguilon and Gareth Bale from Real Madrid with the arrival of Jesse Lingard from Manchester United, reports ESPN.

Spurs confirmed the high profile captures of Reguilon and Bale on Saturday evening, with the former joining on a five-year deal and the latter arriving on a season-long loan.

The north London side have been busy in the market having also signed Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Joe Hart and Matt Doherty this summer.

And Spurs won't be stopping there with it reported head coach Jose Mourinho wants to land Lingard from Manchester United.

Lingard wasn't included in United's squad in their 3-1 loss to Crystal Palace on Saturday, heightening speculation that he'll depart Old Trafford before the transfer window closes next month.

The 27-year-old isn't keen on leaving United, but is looking to seek regular game time elsewhere as he looks to force his way back into Gareth Southgate's plans ahead of next summer's European Championship.

Lingard enjoyed his most prolific league season under Mourinho in 2017/18 and Spurs and pondering a move for the England international, though that may be dependant on Dele Alli leaving the club before October 5th.

Alli isn't part of Mourinho's 18-man squad for Spurs' trip to Southampton, fuelling rumours that he is set to leave in the coming weeks.
