‘Austin could stay’ – Ramsey

Charlie Austin could still be a Queens Park Rangers player come the start of the season, according to manager Chris Ramsey.

Austin, 26, is seeking a move back to the Premier League following relegation with QPR last season and has already been strongly linked with a number of Premier League clubs this summer.

The west London outfit have reportedly been holding out for the full £15m valuation over Austin’s head, and Ramsey admits the club, and Austin himself, have rejected several offers already this summer.

“There have been offers,” Ramsey told Sky Sports News. “With a player of Charlie’s ability, there will always be speculation.

“At the moment, there has been nothing concrete. We’ve had offers that we’ve rejected, and we’ve had offers that Charlie himself has not been happy to take on.

“At the moment, he’s a QPR player and he’s working hard in training. I’m having the idea that he will be here into the season. If he is here during the season then he is going to be someone that we want to use.”

In the Premier League last season, no player contributed more goals to their team’s total output than Austin (43%) and his 18 league goals.
