Arsenal look to young Dutch forward to rectify goal issues

Arsenal are admirers of Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee as they seek to rectify their goal woes this month, reports the Telegraph.

The Gunners have struggled in front of goal in recent weeks and have now won just one of their last seven competitive matches.

The north London side are believed to be in the market for a new frontman in January, with Borja Mayoral supposedly on the club's wishlist.

However, the Telegraph suggests that Zirkzee has emerged as a potential target for Arsenal, with the 22-year-old believed to be valued at £50m.

This means a January deal may prove complicated with Arsenal needing to sell before they can buy in order to stay within Financial Fair Play regulations.

Zirkzee has been directly involved in nine league goals for high-flying Bologna this season, scoring seven times, with his performances certainly catching the eye.

Arsenal have scored just 37 league goals this season, that the fourth lowest return of those in the top half of the Premier League table.

Mikel Arteta's side aren't in action now until next week where they take on Crystal Palace at the Emirates as they seek to get their domestic campaign back on track.
