Hazard’s Real Madrid move could scupper Hudson-Odoi’s Chelsea exit

Chelsea are determined not to lose Eden Hazard and Callum Hudson-Odoi in the same transfer window, claims The Sun.

Hazard is widely expected to join Real Madrid at the end of the season when he will only have 12 months left to run on his existing deal.

Maurizio Sarri has already conceded the club will not stand in his way if he wants to join Madrid and the Spanish side have stepped up their interest following Zinedine Zidane’s return to the club.

While Chelsea will accept Hazard joining Madrid, the same cannot be said for Hudson-Odoi, who they are determined to keep.

The Premier League giants rejected several bids for Hudson-Odoi from Bayern Munich in January and the 18-year-old was desperate to join the Bundesliga outfit.

Hudson-Odoi, like Hazard, has rejected an offer of a new long-term contract from Chelsea and will only have one year left on his current deal this summer.

The 18-year-old has struggled to break into Sarri’s first-team plans this season and has only been used sparingly in cup and European competition.

Hudson-Odoi has made eight appearances in the Europa League this season but has only tended to start matches with the tie all but over.

Despite a lack of regular playing time in the competition, Hudson-Odoi is the highest WhoScored rated player (7.84).
