Crystal Palace manager has one game to save his job

Frank de Boer could be sacked as Crystal Palace manager if the Eagles are beaten by Burnley this weekend, reports The Daily Mail.

The former Inter and Ajax head coach was only appointed Palace manager over the summer but has made a dire start to life at Selhurst Park.

Palace are one of just two teams in the Premier League that have yet to score this season, while only goal difference separates the Eagles from the foot of the table.

Despite having only managed three league matches, there is already a feeling at Palace that in De Boer they have appointed the wrong manager.

The 47-year-old already realises the pressure he is under and is thought to be willing to compromise on his philosophy and revert Palace back to a more familiar 4-3-3 formation.

Palace’s players have struggled to adapt to De Boer’s demands of playing with a back three and now the Dutchman faces a must-win game away to Burnley on Sunday to save his job.

Former Charlton manager Les Reed currently holds the record for the briefest managerial reign in the Premier League’s history (7 matches), but De Boer could be set to shatter that if Palace pull the trigger in just his fourth league match in charge.
