Former Chelsea defender David Luiz would welcome Diego Costa to Paris Saint-Germain.
Chelsea are anticipating some of their star players to attempt to leave this summer with the Blues not expected to finish in the top four this season, reports The Sun.
With Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid likely to be restricted by a transfer embargo in the summer, it would leave Costa with few big clubs willing to take him off Chelsea’s hands.
PSG are one of those that will be free to sign players in the summer and Luiz says the club would welcome him.
“Diego is one of the most clinical strikers in Europe, he would be a welcome addition to any team,” the PSG defender is quoted as saying by The Daily Mirror.
“I think PSG have made their intent clear over the last three or four seasons, that we only add the best player.
“If Diego decides he has had enough of England and wants a new challenge, of course he would be welcome here.”
Costa enjoyed a sensational first campaign in the Premier League last season as he blasted Chelsea to the title with his 20 goals. However, he has struggled to get anywhere near those heights this time around and has only just hit a good run of form.
In fact, Costa has scored five goals in his last five appearances in all competitions for Chelsea, as the reigning Premier League champions look to kick start their campaign.
