Palace agree club record deal for new striker

Crystal Palace have agreed a deal in principle to sign Liverpool striker Christian Benteke for a club record £32m, reports BBC Sport.

The Eagles have been pursuing Benteke all summer and they are finally poised to sign the Belgium international for an initial £27m plus a further £5m in add-ons.

Benteke, 25, joined Liverpool last summer for £32.5m under Brendan Rodgers but does not feature in Jurgen Klopp’s long-term plans.
