Manchester United interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is eyeing a January swoop to re-sign Bournemouth striker Joshua King, claims The Sun.
King graduated from United’s youth academy and made two senior appearances for the club before being sold to Blackburn in 2013.
The 26-year-old, who played in the same United youth teams as Paul Pogba when Solskjaer was reserve team manager, was sold to Bournemouth in 2015 and the Norway international has emerged as a key player for the Cherries.
King finished the 2016/17 season in terrific form and ended the campaign with 16 goals and two assists, which drew interest from Tottenham.
Bournemouth successfully managed to secure King’s long-term future in September 2017 but now Eddie Howe’s side may have to fend off interest from United.
With Chelsea also in pursuit of Callum Wilson and Tottenham watching Nathan Ake’s development on the south coast, Bournemouth could soon be stripped of their best players.
King has scored five goals in 15 league games this season, only three short of his tally during the entirety of last season.
