AC Milan are keen on signing Liverpool centre-back Dejan Lovren this summer, claims Gianluca Di Marzio.
The Serie A giants want to bolster their defensive options for next season and have earmarked Lovren as a potential transfer target.
Lovren’s existing Liverpool deal is not due to expire until the summer of 2021 but the Croatia international struggled for regular playing time last season.
The 29-year-old started the season below Joe Gomez in the pecking order for places before Joel Matip finished the campaign as first choice alongside Virgil van Dijk.
Lovren, who is a popular member of the Liverpool dressing room, only made 13 Premier League appearances last season and started just two games in their Champions League-winning campaign.
In fact, Lovren has started just 81 of a possible 144 matches in the Premier League since Jurgen Klopp’s arrival.
In that time, Liverpool have a better win ratio (65.1%) when Lovren has not started a Premier League game compared to when he has featured from the off (55.6%).
