Real Madrid in talks for Corinthians starlet

Real Madrid have entered talks with Corinthians about the transfer of young forward Pedrinho, claims Spanish outlet AS.

The European champions have changed their transfer policy in recent years from signing ready made superstars to focus on hoovering up the best young talent all over the world.

Madrid have arguably acquired the best Spanish talent in the last few seasons and have also made an effort to beat Barcelona to the hottest prospects from South America since losing out on Neymar to their rivals.

Madrid splashed out nearly £40m in the summer of 2017 to agree a deal with Flamengo for a then-16-year-old Vinicius Junior and spent a further €45m to sign Rodrigo from Santos 12 months later.

Madrid are also expected to announce the arrival of River Plate midfielder Exequiel Palacios in January and also want to complete a deal Pedrinho then.

The 20-year-old has emerged as a first-team regular for Corinthians this season and reportedly has a €50m release clause.

Pedrinho has made 32 league appearances for Corinthians this season and most of those have come on the right flank.

Only two players have completed more dribbles than Pedrinho in the Brasileirao this term (73) but the Brazilian is yet to score.

In fact, Pedrinho has had the most shots in Brasileirao this season without scoring a single goal (59), at least 26 more than any other player.
