Chelsea have agreed terms with Alexandre Pato and just need to finalise the deal with Corinthians, according to The Daily Telegraph.
The reigning Premier League champions are on the market for a new striker as a replacement for Radamel Falcao and now appear to be edging closer to getting their man.
Pato, 26, has reportedly been handed a three-year contract, having already spoken to Chelsea duo Willian and Marco Amelia about a possible move to Stamford Bridge.
The Brazilian striker has entered the final year of his contract at current Brasileirao champions Corinthians, but has spent the last two years rebuilding his career on loan at rivals Sao Paulo.
Corinthians are holding out for £10m for the former AC Milan striker, while Chelsea are hopeful of lowering the price tag or securing his services on loan with a view to make the switch permanent.
Pato hasn’t played since November and would likely need a few weeks to get up to match sharpness. However, he is coming off the back of his most prolific season (10 goals) since the 2010/11 campaign where he scored 11 goals for Milan (14). He has, however, only scored one goal in his last 10 matches.
