Lukaku agrees to become the best-paid player in Everton’s history

Romelu Lukaku is ready to put an end to questions about his future after agreeing to sign a new long-term deal with Everton that runs until 2022, reports The Daily Mirror.

The Belgium international has been heavily linked with a move away from Everton in recent transfer windows and manager Ronald Koeman has even conceded himself that Lukaku’s potential outweighs the clubs in the short-term.

Lukaku’s current deal is due to expire in 2019 but the Premier League star has reportedly agreed to extend that stay but a further three years after signing a deal worth £110,000-a-week, although it comes with a huge catch.

His new deal is understood to include a release clause that will allow Lukaku to leave Goodison Park if a bigger club comes calling, although the size of the clause has not been discovered.

In the last five Premier League campaigns only Sergio Aguero (91) has scored more goals in the Premier League than Lukaku (78).
