Atletico boss puts Premier League sides on red alert
Atletico Madrid have agreed to reduce Diego Simeone’s contract by two years putting Premier League suitors on red alert, reports Marca.
Simeone, 46, only signed a five-year deal with Atletico in March last year but there had been reports suggesting the Argentine only wanted to see the club through the first year of the move to the new stadium.
There had been interest from Paris Saint-Germain this summer but Simeone turned down their approach to make him the best-paid manager in the world to stay in the Spanish capital.
However, Atletico have agreed to reduce his contract to run until the end of the 2017/18 campaign, which should interest a number of Premier League clubs that have been linked with the fiery Argentine in the past.
Since taking over as Atletico manager in December 2011 Simeone has won 63% of his matches in charge.
