Newcastle look to Tottenham left-back as Willems replacement
Newcastle are considering offering Danny Rose an escape route out of Tottenham this month as they seek a new left-back, reports The Telegraph.
Rose's future in north London is anything but secure at the moment amidst reports of a bust up with head coach Jose Mourinho.
The England international has just 18 months left to run on his current deal at the club and he has previously admitted he would rather see out his contract than angle for a move away.
However, Rose has found playing time hard to come by since Mourinho took over the reins and it's seen Newcastle register their interest in the 29-year-old.
The Magpies are reeling from Jetro Willems' season ending injury in their 1-0 win over Chelsea last weekend, while Paul Dummett is also sidelined for the remainder of the campaign, leaving Newcastle short of left-back options.
Rose was left out of Tottenham's matchday squad in the 0-0 draw at Watford last weekend, with Jan Vertonghen, Ryan Sessegnon, Ben Davies and Japhet Tanganga ahead of the defender in the pecking order.
Newcastle boss Steve Bruce was interested in signing Rose last summer and he could make his move to acquire the left-back this month before next week's deadline.
