Guardiola rejected huge offer from Juventus to leave Manchester City
Pep Guardiola turned down mouth-watering €20m per year wages from Juventus to stay at Manchester City this summer, claims Eurosport France.
Juventus are on the market for a new manager following Massimiliano Allegri’s departure at the end of last season.
Guardiola has been heavily linked with the Juventus hot seat for the last few months despite publically rejecting the idea of leaving City on numerous occasions.
The Spaniard has spent the last three years at City but has unfinished business at the club after their failures in Europe.
City have won the Premier League two years in a row and last season became the first team in the competition’s history to win a domestic treble.
Juventus were so desperate to prise Guardiola away from City they were even prepared to break the bank to land the former Barcelona head coach.
The Old Lady are now expected to appoint Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri as their new manager on a three-year deal.
Juventus have won Serie A in each of the last eight seasons but winning the Champions League has proved beyond their means, last winning the competition in 1996.
