Premier League manager on Barcelona's radar

Barcelona have earmarked former defender and Everton manager Ronald Koeman as a potential replacement for Luis Enrique at the end of the season, reports The Daily Mirror.

Enrique’s long-term future as Barcelona manager has been cast into doubt following Barcelona’s shock 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of their last 16 encounter in the Champions League.

No side has ever come from 4-0 down in the first leg to progress through the last 16 stage of the Champions League leaving Barcelona all but out of the competition at this phase for the first time in over decade.

There has been some unrest at Barcelona all season and it would seem likely Enrique will be sacked at the end of the season given they are also set to hand over their league title to Real Madrid as well.

Candidates have already been drawn up as possible replacements for Enrique and Everton manager, Koeman, is being tipped with a return to the Camp Nou having spent six successful years there as a player.

Koeman, 53, only became Everton manager last summer but has previously stated his dream is to return to Barcelona as head coach although that wasn’t expected to happen for some time yet.

Since arriving to the Premier League as manager of Southampton in 2014, Koeman boosts an impressive win ratio of 47.1%.
