Bayern Munich submit fourth bid for Chelsea starlet

Bayern Munich have made an improved offer to Chelsea that would make Callum Hudson-Odoi the third most expensive player in the club’s history, claims the London Evening Standard.

The Bundesliga champions have already had three offers for the 18-year-old rejected this month but have returned with a stunning bid of £31.4m for the highly rated teenager.

Chelsea will be reluctant to lose the teenager but his contract expires in 2020 and he is unwilling to pledge his long-term future to the club over fears of regular playing time at Stamford Bridge.

Bayern’s sheer persistence illustrates how badly they want to sign Hudson-Odoi this month and Niko Kovac’s side are reportedly even willing to hand Hudson-Odoi the No.10 shirt that will be vacated by Arjen Robben at the end of the season.

Bayern’s latest offer would sensationally make Hudson-Odoi the club’s third most expensive signing of all-time, despite the fact the England Under-19 international is yet to start a league game.

Hudson-Odoi looked set for a breakthrough campaign after impressing in pre-season but he has struggled for minutes under Maurizio Sarri and now looks set to follow Jadon Sancho in trading life for England for the Bundesliga.

Of players that have made at least three appearances in the Europa League this season, only Besiktas-bound Alen Halilovic (6.1) averages more dribbles per 90 than Hudson-Odoi (5.8).
