Roma rule out sale of Liverpool target

Roma president James Pallotta has categorically ruled out Alisson’s departure this summer.

The Brazil international has established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the world this season and has been heavily linked with a move away from Roma as a result.

Liverpool and Real Madrid have both been mooted with an interest in the 25-year-old but Roma insist he will be going nowhere at the end of the season.

“We have no intention of selling him. No chance,” Pallotta told Sky Sport Italia, via The Daily Mail. “When we signed him, I thought he was a great goalkeeper and I still think so, so we won’t sell him.”

Liverpool will get a closer look of Alisson when Jurgen Klopp’s side face Roma in the Champions League semi-finals next week.

Of Serie A goalkeepers that have made at least five appearances this season, only Inter’s Samir Handanovic (79.6%) has a better save success rate than Alisson (79%).
