Paris Saint-Germain want Real Madrid midfielder in return for Neymar

Paris Saint-Germain are open to selling Neymar to Real Madrid but want Luka Modric in return, claims The Times.

Thomas Tuchel’s side are keen to offload troublesome winger Neymar before the end of the month but are running out of options.

It is believed PSG would prefer to sell Neymar to Madrid over Barcelona due to their poor relations with the LaLiga champions.

Madrid have switched their attentions to signing Neymar after missing out on Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.

Madrid president Florentino Perez is desperate to sign a marquee name and has rekindled their long-standing interest in Neymar.

PSG signed Neymar in a world-record £200m deal two years ago but are willing to sell the Brazil international to Madrid for £149m in addition to Modric.

The Croatia international was linked with a move to Serie A outfit Inter 12 months ago but Madrid blocked his departure.

Modric turns 34 at the start of next month and that could prove pivotal in Madrid’s decision-making to prise Neymar from PSG.

Despite the fact Modric was deemed a relative disappointment last season, the Croatian midfielder still registered his most goal involvements (nine) in a league-campaign over the last 10 years.
