Bournemouth offer West Ham target new deal

Bournemouth have offered Callum Wilson a new £100,000-a-week deal in order to ward off interest from West Ham this summer, claims The Sun.

Wilson still has three years left to run on his current contract but developed into one of the best strikers in the Premier League outside the established top-six last season.

The 27-year-old was linked with a move to Chelsea at the start of the year and now West Ham are being credited with an interest after missing out on Celta Vigo striker Maxi Gomez.

Bournemouth have no interest in losing one of their best players and are moving quickly to secure his long-term future.

The Cherries have offered Wilson a lucrative new five-year deal, which will secure his best years, and put any talks of a move to West Ham to bed.

It’s unclear whether West Ham will even firm up their interest in the England international due to the premium clubs are forced to pay on homegrown players.

Only Jamie Vardy (18), Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane (both 17) scored more goals than Wilson of all English players in Europe’s top five leagues last season.

Furthermore, no striker created more clear-cut goalscoring chances in the Premier League last season than Wilson (13).
