Monaco consider move for former Liverpool striker Sturridge
Daniel Sturridge has emerged as a leading transfer target for French side Monaco if Radamel Falcao leaves the club this summer, reports L’Equipe.
Falcao wants to be released from his Monaco contract 12 months early in order to pursue a move to Turkish giants Galatasaray.
Monaco have already signed Wissam Ben Yedder from Sevilla to bolster their offensive options but will need to find a replacement for Falcao if the Colombia international departs.
Sturridge has been a free agent since his Liverpool contract expired at the start of the summer and is yet to find a club for the new season.
The former England international has been working on his fitness in the United States this summer and has even been linked with a surprise move to Turkey.
Sturridge, like Falcao, has struggled with injuries during his career and was limited to just four Premier League starts for Liverpool last season.
The 29-year-old hasn’t made at least 15 starts in a single league campaign since the 2013/14 season, which is also the last league season he reached double figures for goals (21).
