Wolves have agreed to pay Portuguese giants Sporting €18m (£15.9m) for the transfer of goalkeeper Rui Patricio, the Premier League club announced on Wednesday night.
Patricio joined Wolves on a free transfer in the summer after terminating his contract with Sporting at the end of last season.
The Portugal international was one of several high profile players to leave Sporting but the Jose Peseiro’s side have actively been seeking compensation for their departures.
“Wolves have reached an agreement that will see Sporting Clube de Portugal receive a feee of €18m for the taysnfer of goalkeeper Rui Patricio,” a statement read on Wolves’ official website.
Nuno’s side were one of the busiest Premier League clubs in the summer transfer market and it now means they have spent almost £100m on new players since being promoted from the Championship last season.
The 30-year-old has been a great addition by Wolves and has pulled off a number of eye-catching saves during his 10 Premier League appearances, notably denying Raheem Sterling from range back in August.
Only Ederson (7), Alisson (6) and Kepa (5) have kept more clean sheets than Patricio (4) in the Premier League this season.
