Heaton pens new Burnley deal

Burnley have announced captain Tom Heaton has signed a new four-year deal keeping him at the club until 2020.

Heaton, 30, only signed a new contract extension last summer but the England international has been rewarded for the form he showed in Burnley’s promotion campaign in the Championship last season.

The former Manchester United goalkeeper was an unused substitute during England’s Euro 2016 campaign and is delighted to extend his stay at Turf Moor.

“I’m obviously over the moon to sign for another four years,” Heaton told Burnley’s official website. “I’m really looking forward to the challenge, especially this season and whatever comes after that.”

“Being at Burnley has been fantastic for me and I’ve enjoyed every minute, on a personal note. Now I’m looking forward, as I say, to what the future is, to keep challenging myself and the position.”
