Arsenal join chase for Milan target Romagnoli

Arsenal are reportedly ready to compete with AC Milan for the signature of Italy U21 international Alessio Romagnoli from Roma, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The centre-back impressed on loan at Sampdoria last season and has been valued at a whopping £24.4m by Serie A runners-up Roma in turn, that the price tag has not deterred interest from some of Europe's big names.

Romagnoli is widely expected to break into the senior Italy side before long and may even be targetting a place in Antonio's squad ahead of next summer's European Championships.
