Chelsea weigh up January bid for Tottenham target

Chelsea are weighing up a January move for Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha, reports The Daily Mirror

Zaha has been in sublime form for Palace since returning from injury in October but that has only attracted more admirers.

The Eagles managed to fend off interest from Tottenham in the summer but Mauricio Pochettino’s side are expected to return for the winger next month.

Tottenham aren’t the only side interested in the 25-year-old, as Chelsea are now believed to be also contemplating a January move for the former Manchester United attacker.

Money will be available for Antonio Conte to bolster his squad next month and Zaha has been earmarked as a potential target, particularly if they fail to keep Willian out of United’s clutches.

Zaha has found the back of the net four times in 12 Premier League appearances this season and his goals have earned Palace an extra four points.

In fact, Palace were rock bottom of the Premier League with 0 points from seven matches before Zaha returned to first team action against Chelsea midway through October.

Since that 2-1 win, Palace have won as many points as Tottenham (17) and would be ninth in the Premier League.

With that in mind, it's worth investing in Zaha on Football INDEX in anticipation of a January move. Even if one fails to materalise, the intense speculation will only drive his price up.
